A bandeau holds by the band and the cup and nothing else, which is why the card on every piece here says what the cup is. The tie-back bandeau bikini top, the most-rated top in the Ocean Blues collection, holds a full cup by a molded cup and a tie at the back that you pull to the tension you want; the wide-strap bandeau and the strapless twist top hold by a molded or padded cup and the band alone. On the tankini shelf, the ruched bandeau top adds a shaped front over the same molded cup, and the two twist fronts hold by a molded cup with straps you can unhook. The shirred bandeau one-piece does the same job for the whole body.

Almost every bandeau here comes with straps, and the honest way to wear one is to swim with the straps on and take them off for the photograph. The off-shoulder bandeau set is the exception, held by a padded cup and a hook at the back with a sleeve that sits off the shoulder. Sizing is where strapless goes wrong: a band that is a letter loose lets the whole top drop the first time you lift an arm, so a bandeau takes the snug letter in the band even when the cup would like the larger one, and the chart on the buying page gives the under-bust for exactly that reason.

Every colourway here is priced on its own; the Ocean Blues catalogue keeps the figures current and the till is what decides.

Questions about Ocean Blues Bandeau Swimwear

Held by the band, not the shoulder

Will an Ocean Blues bandeau top stay up when you swim?

With the straps on, yes: the tie-back, the wide-strap and the tankini bandeaus all come with straps you can attach, and that is how they are meant to be swum in. Strapless, none of them has a wire to fall back on, so a band that fits snug matters more than the cup: the tie-back bikini top and the ruched bandeau tankini hold best because the tie sets the band to the tension you choose. Take the smaller letter in the band if you are between two.

Which Ocean Blues bandeau has an underwire?

None of them. Every bandeau in the Ocean Blues range is wire-free and holds by a molded or padded cup and the band under it: the tie-back and the wide-strap bandeau bikini tops, the strapless twist top, the twist-front and ruched bandeau tankinis, the shirred bandeau one-piece and the off-shoulder set. The three wired tops on the site, the front-tie, the crisscross and the push-up halter, all have straps, and the card names the wire on each.

Can you wear an Ocean Blues bandeau tankini with a different bottom?

Every bandeau tankini top on this page is sold alone, so the bottom is your choice, and the high-waisted bottoms are what most people pair with a strapless top: the two together cover from the bust to the navel with nothing on the shoulders. The bottoms are sized by the hip and the top by the bust, in two different letters if that is what your tape says.
