Three inches stops where a bikini bottom would and is a boyleg; five and seven reach the upper thigh; eight reaches mid-thigh and is the pair people buy to paddle in. Two pairs have a pocket, the eight-inch and the five-inch, which is where a car key goes; two carry a mesh liner, the seven-inch and the three-inch high-waisted, so neither needs a bottom under it.
