01The band sits above the navel
The band above the navel, on eleven pieces: the full-coverage bottom, the plus-run bottom, the two board shorts with pockets, the mesh-lined swim skirt, the three-inch and seven-inch shorts, the boyshorts and the two high-waisted bikini sets.
Colourways on this page: Black, Paisley Floral, Navy Blue, Neon Striped, White, Black Polka Dot, Red, Black Striped and Blue, and 7 more.
High-waisted on an Ocean Blues card means the band sits at the navel or above it, and the pieces on this page are the ones cut that way: two bikini bottoms, one on the plus run, six pairs of board shorts and boyshorts, the mesh-lined swim skirt, and two bikini sets whose bottom half is high-waisted. It is the cut that pairs with a bandeau or a tankini top, because the two meet in the middle, and the cut people buy first when they want the stomach covered without a one-piece.
The waist is the second number on this page after the hip. A high-waisted band is wider and firmer than a mid-rise one, and it has to clear the waist as well as the seat: the chart on the buying page gives both in inches, and a band that is snug dry rolls down wet. The board shorts add an inseam to that, three to eight inches, and the skirt adds a mesh short beneath. The high-waisted ruched set is the piece with the colourways, eleven of them, and its bottom is the same cut as the bottoms sold alone.

02About these pieces
The band sits above the navel
The high-waisted full-coverage bikini bottom and its plus-run twin, both full coverage with the band above the navel. The board shorts cover more of the leg, three to eight inches of it, and the swim skirt covers the top of the thigh with a mesh short underneath. The high-waisted sets carry a ruched bottom of the same cut.
A band that fits does not; a band that is a letter small does, because swim fabric is tighter wet. The chart on the buying page gives the waist as well as the hip for these cuts, and the one to clear is the larger of the two. The board shorts with a drawcord and the swim skirt with its zip stay put by their closure.
A bandeau or a tankini top, because a high band and a short top meet at the middle and leave nothing uncovered; a halter or a triangle leaves a band of skin between, which is the look some people want. Tops and bottoms share colourways across the Ocean Blues shelves, so a Royal Blue bottom finds a Royal Blue top.
